Dungon Beach/Wall features a beautiful hard and soft coral slope that leads to a pretty wall starting at 12m and continuing down to 25m. The wall has plenty of cracks and crevices perfect for hiding marine life.
The site is home to various marine life including:
The wall is famous for its assortment of Nudibranchs and Flatworms. Watch for Moray Eels - white eyed and clouded varieties are common in this area. If you spot a black Crinoid looking bulkier than normal, it's probably a camouflaged Frogfish.
During the colder months, a large Barracuda has often been seen resting close to the wall. Continue deeper from the wall and you will encounter the wreck of an old sailing catamaran. Inside the two hulls hide Ringed Pipefish, Lionfish, Puffer Fish and juveniles of all sorts.
As you return to shallower waters, you'll find that large Carpet Anemones are common here, many of them inhabited not only by Anemonefish but also by Porcelain Crabs.
Hidden Treasures: Look carefully in the black Crinoids for camouflaged Frogfish. Also, don't miss exploring the wreck of an old sailing catamaran deeper from the wall - it's home to a surprising variety of marine life.
