Coral Cove is a wonderful dive site for macro lovers. A sloping reef ends in a small wall at 20m that follows the reef along for quite some time. This site offers an incredible variety of small marine life that makes it especially interesting for photographers and critter enthusiasts.
On the slope, you will find countless Nudibranchs, whip coral, Sea Fans, Puffer Fish and very often Cuttlefish. The wall and its overhangs is home to some unusual critters that make this site special.
The site is home to various marine life including:
The deeper sections of the dive site, particularly where rubble meets the sandy bottom, are excellent spots to search for camouflaged creatures like Thorny Seahorses. Banded Sea Snakes are common here, as are Bluespotted Stingrays on the adjacent sandy bottom.
Photography Tip: This site is ideal for macro photography. Bring a focusing light to help spot the many well-camouflaged critters hiding in the corals and on the wall. The bubble coral areas are particularly good for finding Orangutan Crabs.
